My parents are in town. My dad asked me so many questions today and I got annoyed. I’m glad I have your guidance. He’s curious in general. But he’s definitely curious about my life far away from him — where I eat, hang out, spend my time — these question are his way of asking if I’m okay and happy. I’m going to be more patient tomorrow 🤍

I am grateful you found a reframe from this. I guess it’s like shifting from “he’s being so nosy” to “he is so interested in my life here and what’s to know everything!”

That pic and passage of your dad 🥹 it made me realize my dad is like that, too. Even though I know this one, talk about this one with clients, I have to very frequently be reminded of it. Thank you for that.

I appreciate you mentioning me here 🙏🏼

This piece reminded me of that scene in Ted Lasso where he talks about curiosity vs. judgment. I'm ALSO way more drawn to people who are curious about me than not. I have one friend who I LOVE talking to because we're both very curious people and we're always asking each other questions and our conversations feel so FULL...curiosity is so underrated so thank you for writing this!
