What a beautifully written piece. I have a handwritten letter from my grandpa that he sent when I graduated highschool. We weren't close due to distance and his relationship with my dad but it was beautifully written and full of emotion. Despite not knowing him well it made me feel important to him. I'm glad I still have it.

This is so beautiful and I love that you've found ways to work these pieces into your home and your office so you they've essentially become decor, and you can see them all the time and be surrounded by the wonderful memories! One thing I have is a picture of my mom when she was in her twenties, making a funny face...I keep it on my bar (I figure it goes with the bar vibe since she's opening an old-school glass bottle of Coke in the pic). It just reminds me of how silly she is every time I see it!

I love this! Pictures like that remind me that we all had other lives once…we were all young and have to try hard to keep that silliness alive.

Gorgeous reflection. Thank you for sharing all these with us.

I didn’t really connect with Marjorie until I saw it live and now when I watch the concert film I cry and get chills every time.

Similarly I have a lot of relics from my grandmother. She lived until 95 and what a life she lived. I have them all over-paintings, pictures, jewelry, and this absolutely fabulous jacket from Ireland. It feels like she is everywhere to me. We also have the same skin condition, one that my father and son have so every time I notice my wrinkled hands, a feature of the condition, I feel her.

I love that you shared what relics you also keep. It reminds me that while us millennials and gen z whatever’s are more minimal, we do appreciate and love the things our family loved like their art and jewelry and amazing jackets from Ireland!
